The Court of Appeal in Abuja has commenced hearing of final arguments
by counsel in a case that will determine the candidate of the PDP for
Saturday’s Ondo election.
Jimoh Ibrahim and Eyitayo Jegede, representing two different factions of the party, seek to
be its governorship candidate.
Mr. Ibrahim is currently recognised by the electoral commission, INEC, as PDP candidate.
The Appeal Court is also expected to deliver its judgement on the case today.
The ruling will either validate Mr. Ibrahim’s candidacy or replace him with Mr. Jegede, who has the backing of incumbent Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko.
