Policeman kills 1, shoots colleague, 4 others in Zaria, Nigeria

student of the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University Katsina when an argument with a fellow policeman over access into the banking hall went sour. A witness said he was on the ATM queue in the bank premises, when the policeman that was shot attempted to enter while the one on duty tried to stop him.
“From then, they started exchanging harsh words. Suddenly, I saw the policeman on duty pulled his gun and shot the other officer. He then started shooting sporadically killing one person in the process,” he said.
Another witness however said before that, he has already shot six people who were on ATM queue.
When Daily Trust visited the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, (ABUTH), Shika, Zaria, the police Area Commander (AC), Abdullahi Ibrahim, was seen sympathising with the victims.
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Professor Lawal Khalid, said he would not comment on the state of the injured as they were just brought in.witness said he was on the ATM queue in the bank premises, when the policeman that was shot attempted to enter while the one on duty tried to stop him.
