horror down under Child, 10, among four dead in Melbourne after driver deliberately ploughs car into crowds

Witnesses described “bodies flying through the air” and people running out of the path of the speeding car in the central shopping area.It is understood a man and woman, both in their 30s, were also killed  in (more photos after the cut)
the horror with 20 injured, including four children.
A spokesman for the Royal Children’s Hospital said the hospital was treating “a three-month-old who is currently in the operating theatre, a two-year-old who has been transferred to the intensive care unit, a nine-year-old with limb injuries who has been transferred to the ward and a 12-year-old who is currently undergoing assessments".

Police have ruled out terrorism - but Victoria Police's Acting Commander Stuart Bateson said it was a deliberate act in the heart of Melbourne.
Cops eventually rammed the car and shot the 26-year-old driver - named as Dimitrious Gargasoulas by The Herald Sun - in the arm, before dragging him from the vehicle and arresting him.
Police said the man had a history of family violence and was wanted over a stabbing earlier in the day.
It is alleged the same man then took a woman, who is known to him, hostage in his car. She later managed to escape.
Pursued by police cars, the man had been seen driving erratically before speeding into a pedestrian mall, deliberately ploughing into people, Victoria state police said. A shop video showed several people diving into a convenience store as the car racing along the footpath.
Shocked onlookers described hearing at least five gunshots before cops arrested a man who had to be dragged from the car.
Witness Sian Bayliss told ABC News people were “flying like skittles” as the man “drove right through them” in a “determined fashion".
