Wike Decries INEC’s Inability To Conclude Elections In Rivers State

According to him, the report of the state being unsafe is neither here nor there. The governor made this known while meeting members of the Institute of Arbitrators and the West African Institute of Architects at the State Government House in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The governor further noted that the successful hosting of various national and international conferences is a clear indication that the political environment in the state is safe.
In his words, ” Media reports that the state is bedeviled by kidnapping and all forms of criminality which is mere propaganda, there is no society without crime and we are supporting the security agencies to fight crime….West African Institute of Architects have concluded their conference here, International Rotary Club was here…. you have seen that the state is safe”
Although no date has been fixed for the conclusion of the legislative rerun election in the state by INEC.
The Commission had earlier chosen October 2016 tentatively, to fix a new date, but no word has been given by the Commission yet on a new date for the polls, which among others give the state representation at the Senate.
