Yoruba Congress For Kumasi in 2017
An All-Yoruba Congress has been scheduled to be held in Kumasi between 9th and 11th March 2017, organisers have announced during a press conference held at the Accra International Press Centre yesterday.
The media programme simultaneously kicked off activities prior to the main event next year.

Three killed as bus collides with shuttle in Kenya
At least three people were killed on Friday
after a bus ferrying pupils from western Kenya to Nairobi collided with a
shuttle at Sachangwan on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway.

Patient collapses and dies after four-hour wait on queue
A patient has collapsed and died after waiting on the queue to be treated for over four hours.
Witnesses told said David Wekesa Kibui arrived at the hospital shortly after 8am in
the company of his wife Emily and proceeded straight to a queue as they
waited to be attended to.
But four hours later, witnesses say, he had not been attended to.

The United States embassy in Gigiri, Nairobi, including its consular section, will remain closed today following the shooting death of a man near the gate on Thursday.
According to a statement posted on the embassy's website, the consular will resume business on October 31.
However, emergency services for US citizens will be available, the embassy said.
A man was shot dead outside the embassy after he stabbed a General Service Unit (GSU) officer with a knife.
A statement released by the embassy confirmed the shooting, adding that “no Embassy personnel were involved”.
The suspect was trying to forcibly gain entry into the embassy when he was blocked by the Kenyan officer at the gate.
The attacker stabbed the GSU officer in the head and right hand before the officer gunned him down.
