Over 100 million Nigerians are living in poverty - Dangote


The president Dangote group, Aliko Dangote stated in Jos on Sunday that over one million Nigerians are living in poverty. He made this revelation
in at Executive Course No. 38, 2016 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State. According to him, the situation is worrisome and unacceptable considering the Nigeria's abundant resources. That the situation was unacceptable to him given Nigeria’s abundant resources
Quoting from United Nations report, Dangote pointed the rising rate of unemployment of youth to 42 per cent this year and many graduates roaming the streets. This he said during delivering a paper entitle
 Delivering a paper entitled: ‘Promotion of local manufacturing and poverty reduction in Nigeria: The private sector experience and policy options’, he said, “It is a curious paradox that Nigeria, Africa’s largest oil producer, and the largest economy on the continent, also has one of the highest levels of poverty.
