Just because a car needs to go fast doesn’t mean it cannot also travel
in style. Alfa Romeo presented two special editions of its new Giulia
Quadrifoglio high-performance sports sedan to the Italian national military police, the Carabinieri, on Monday morning, Mashable reported. created the cars to serve as special operations
vehicles. Particularly, the cars will be utilized when the police need
to do something fast, like transporting organs and blood.
to do something fast, like transporting organs and blood.
On the somewhat less exciting side, but nevertheless
noteworthy, the cars will be employed for escort services at
institutional ceremonies.
There is a good reason why Alfa chose these cars for
such special duty. Not only are they the newest and ultimate invention
from the storied Italian automaker, they are also powered by a
510-horsepower 2.9-liter V6 engine.
At full throttle, the Giulia will do 0 to 62 mph in
3.9 seconds undoubtedly fast enough to get some blood across town. Heck,
it might even be enough to curdle it. You might even declare, Italians
have speed in their blood and their blood in this speedy Alfa.
In utter contrast to American police vehicles, these
Giulias have not been de-contented. Alternatively, they retain the
special leather interior with red accent stitching. Alfa also fitted the
cars with a defibrillator, special portable cooling units, radio, Odin
system, emergency devices and rechargeable LED flashlights.
What’s more, Alfa has bolted up a tablet in front of the passenger. It’s not specified why in the announcement.
This is to aid in police duties. Since it’s the Italians, though, I have a feeling it’s instead for entertainment.
I know these cars were built for the Italians, but I
can’t help but think the English need a couple of their own. I mean,
they could rightfully call them “bloody fast” (sorry not sorry)
