Breaking News: Janet Reno, the first woman to serve as attorney general of the United States, has died at 78

Janet Reno, who rose from a rustic life on the edge of the Everglades to become attorney general of the United States — the first woman to hold the job — and whose eight years in that office placed her in the middle of
some of the most divisive episodes of the Clinton presidency, has died at age 78, The Associated Press reported.
Ms. Reno died early Monday from complications of Pakinson's diseases, The A.P. reported, citing her goddaughter Gabrielle D’Alemberte. Ms. Reno learned she had Parkinson’s disease in November 1995.
