A 26-year-old man, Emeka Utomi, was on Thursday arraigned
 in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defiling 
his neighbour’s three-year-old daughter, Utomi, 
who is unemployed and resides at 2, Rev. Dayo Fatukasi Close, Irawo, 
Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a one-count charge of defilement.
The prosecutor, 
Insp Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the offence was committed on Nov. 2 at the residence of the accused.
Inuoha 
said that the accused called his neighbour’s daughter into his room and 
inserted his finger into her vagina when one of the co-tenants caught 
him in the act.
The offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
Chief Magistrate B. O Osunsanmi granted the accused bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case till Jan. 30, 2017 for mention.
