Mum and 11-year-old daughter left seriously injured as car smashes into bus shelter in hit-and-run horror

A mum and her young daughter have been left seriously injured after a car veered off the road and smashed into a bus shelter.
The driver and three passengers fled from their blue Mazda Coupe after the crash on Friday and police have launched an investigation to trace them.
The 29-year-old woman is being treated in hospital for leg and pelvic fractures.
The girl, 11, was left with
leg fractures as well as a laceration to her liver after the collision on Glodwick Road in Oldham.
Pictures from the scene show the smashed-up vehicle with warped metal from the bus shelter strewn across the pavement.
Tyre tracks in the snow appear to reveal how the vehicle came off the road and could prove a vital clue for detectives as they investigate the incident.
Karif Hussain, who witnessed the crash, wrote on Facebook that both the victims “are OK”.
He urged friends to keep the mum and daughter in their prayers, adding: “Daughter has got fracture on her leg and awaiting mothers CT scan results.
“Both sustained injury to the legs. Nothing to be worried about.”
Greater Manchester Police inspector Arron Cooper said: “Sadly, as a result of this incident, a woman and a girl have been left with serious injuries.
“I want to stress the importance that anyone who witnessed the collision should contact us as soon as possible.“I would urge anyone who saw a blue Mazda Coupe driving in the area shortly before the collision, or who saw the men fleeing the scene, to contact police.”
