Three more footballers - including one former Newcastle United star -
today revealed they were abused by their coaches and called for their
tormentors to be arrested. Four police forces are now investigating
claims that a paedophile ring may have attacked hundreds of children in a
conspiracy
that 'went to the very top' of the sport. On Friday, the Metropolitan Police revealed they received information relating to historical sexual abuse in football clubs in London. Crewe footballers Jason Dunford and Chris Unsworth revealed today that coach Barry Bennell, 62, abused them and Mr Unsworth said he was 'raped between 50 and 100 times' but never told anyone until this week. Steve Walters, who was Crewe's youngest debutant, broke down on live TV (right) because he had never been to the police about Bennell's abuse and wants him arrested. Fellow victim Andy Woodward (left), who was the first footballer to speak out about being abused, cried as he said that Bennell would 'have one boy a night' on away trips.
