The Donald on verge of incredible victory after he sweeps Ohio, North Carolina and Florida and takes shock leads in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania on night that confounded the experts

As Donald Trump appeared sensationally poised to take the presidency during a night of high political drama, the Republican candidate posed for a picture with his family from their campaign 'war-room'. Ivanka Trump posted a photograph of 'Team Trump' as they appeared
to watch the balance of political power swing dramatically in their favor from their Hilton Hotel HQ in Manhattan. Dressed in a blue dress Tiffany Trump (far left) was joined by her sister-in-law Vanessa and husband Donald Trump Jr. (second left), vice presidential candidate Mike Pence and his wife Karen (front center) alongside Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner (second right) and Donald Trump himself (right) stood with his granddaughter, Arabella Rose Kushner. To Trump's right is his daughter-in-law, Lara. Trump captured crucial victories over Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night in Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, showing remarkable strength in three of the nation's most fiercely fought battleground states in an unexpectedly tight race for the presidency. Clinton carried Virginia, Colorado and California. Her campaign had expected easy victories there, but the states took on new urgency as Trump picked up votes elsewhere with Michigan and Wisconsin set to fall. With a handful of other battleground states still undecided, neither candidate had cleared the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House. The uncertainty sent Dow futures and Asian markets tumbling, reflecting investor concern over what a Trump presidency might mean for the economy and trade.
