Hollywood's moral crusade against Donald Trump is nothing but hypocritical hogwash




Hollywood hates Donald Trump. That’s no surprise. He loves high walls and hates abortion; they want to save the Earth and teach it to sing. If this were a romantic comedy, Trump and Hollywood would be forced to share a house together and, after
90 minutes of cat v dog loathing, they’d fall in love. But this isn’t the movies, it’s real life – although the struggle is still partly about the show.
Of course there’s a genuine, deep antipathy on display. Meryl Streep spoke at the Golden Globes about Trump’s alleged parodying of a disabled man. “Disrespect invites disrespect,” she said. “Violence incites violence.” At a rally in Manhattan, Robert De Niro said Trump was: “a bad example of this country and this city." Alec Baldwin called him “a disgrace”. The Washington women’s march boasted Madonna, Julia Roberts, Scarlett Johansson, Cher, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Emma Watson, Amy Schumer and Jake...
