Muslim translators are DELIBERATELY mistranslating migrants who convert to Christianity to get them deported, claims German pastor

Iranian and Afghani migrants converting to Christianity after arriving in Germany are having their words deliberately misquoted by Muslim translators in a bid to ruin their asylum applications, a pastor in

Berlin has claimed.

Converting to Christianity greatly boosts a migrant's chances of winning asylum by allowing them to claim they would face persecution if sent home to a Muslim country.

But if the migrant's words are misquoted during their asylum hearing it can make their conversion look fabricated and therefore their claim seem falsified, meaning it is rejected and they are deported.

Rev. Dr. Gottfried Martens, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Berlin, who has baptised an unprecedented amount of migrants in the past decade, says he fears his congregations' chances of asylum are now being hijacked.

'The almost exclusively Muslim translators deliberately stick the knife in our congregational members by falsely translating what they say,' Martens wrote in a Christmas letter to his supporters on 22 December.

He explained how the final decision about asylum applications 'is made by a professional working in an office in another area of Germany'.

Martens said this decision maker 'has never in their life set eyes upon the asylum seeker in question' but takes their decision based on the 'statements about the Christian faith that have often been distorted beyond recognition' by the translators. 

Martens also criticised how recent changes to the Federal Ministry for Immigration and Refugees has affected his congregation members, many of whom have been waiting three years to have their first asylum hearing.
