Lady Gaga is standing by fellow chart-topper Kanye West during his turbulent week.
The “Born This Way” singer kicked off her Thanksgiving holiday by voicing her support for West, who started off the week hospitalized following
an explosive weekend that ended with his remaining tour dates being canceled.
Gaga took to Twitter Wednesday for several posts in support of West, chastising those that had been making light of his situation.
“It’s not funny to joke about anyone’s possible or not possible mental illness,” she tweeted. “This is a sensitive time for many. Let’s be kind & loving.”
“While I don’t agree with everything he does I hope the public shows compassion and [love] for @kanyewest and each other. One love. One Race,” Gaga added in a follow-up.
West, meanwhile, is expected to stay in the hospital “for several more days,” a source told People on Thursday. The source added that West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, visited him Thursday morning before heading to spend Thanksgiving with her family.
