Boko Haram militants today ambushed and killed a Nigerian Army
Commander, Lt. Colonel Umar.
Sources said that Umar who is the Commanding Officer of
the 114 Task Force Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Bita was ambushed
along
Bitta-Pridang Road in Borno state. Umar and members of his troops reportedly came out of their armored vehicle to inspect a damage done to it by an IED laid on the side of the road when Boko Haram terrorists opened fire killing the CO and wounding several troops.
