Ondo 2016: Bayelsa Governor Dickson campaigns for PDP, Jegede

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, visited Ondo State, Tuesday, to campaign for his party, PDP, ahead of the November 26 governorship election in the state.
Mr. Dickson, in the company of the PDP spokesman, Dayo Adeyeye, joined the Ondo governor, Olusegun Mimiko, at the Akure Dome in the state capital to address market women, members of transport unions and non-indigenes of Yoruba extraction in the state.

Mr. Dickson, while canvassing for votes for PDP said that Governor Mimiko had delivered on his campaign promises to the people, and that there was need to consolidate on the administration’s achievements.
Mr. Dickson expressed his backing for Eyitayo Jegede whom he said was the authentic candidate of the PDP.
Mr. Jegede, a candidate of the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the PDP, is still battling to upturn a court judgment which declared Jimoh Ibrahim of the Ali-Modu Sheriff faction the rightful candidate of the party.
Mr. Dickson, who headed the committee which conducted the primary election that produced Mr. Jegede as candidate, called on the Judiciary to urgently resolve all the issues surrounding the Ondo PDP governorship ticket.
The Bayelsa governor said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Alliance for Democracy (AD) aren’t credible alternatives in Ondo. The future of the state was safer under the PDP, he said.
“A vote for PDP is a vote for consolidation of development, peace and prosperity and I am confident that the good people of Ondo State know what is good and will not be deceived by the antics of the opposition,” he said.
